Zuhause noch einen letzten Arbeitstag, die Blumen gie\u00dfen, das Haus herbststurmsicher machen. Langer Flug mit wenig Platz. Das Wetter h\u00e4lt sich nicht den Bericht, es scheint die Herbstsonne, was die Jahreszeit so hergibt, ein leichte Brise weht vom Meer &#8211; und Qingdao-Bier vom Fass schien f\u00fcr die Nacht ein gutes Mittel gegen Jetlag gewesen zu sein.<\/p>\n<p>Es geht uns also gut, und Qingdao macht es uns leicht, anzukommen. Die Sinologen werden den billigen Kalauer schon erkannt haben: Wir hatten ein leichtes Ankommen, qingdao le \u8f7b\u5230\u4e86also, wobei das nat\u00fcrlich K\u00fcchenchinesisch ist, aber gerade style='clear: both' \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Qingdao von von 1898 bis 1914 deutsche Kolonie, und das merkt man der Stadt immer noch an. W\u00e4hrend sich in den anderen ehemals von ausl\u00e4ndischen M\u00e4chten besetzten K\u00fcstenst\u00e4dten Chinas die westlicher Architektur auf einzelne Stadtteile beschr\u00e4nkt, ging man in Qingdao mit deutscher Gr\u00fcndlichkeit vor. Die bestehenden chinesischen Fischerd\u00f6rfer wurden abgerissen und eine typische deutsche Kleinstadt auf die Halbinsel gesetzt, die die Chinesen \u201egr\u00fcne Insel\u201c, Qingdao nannten. Es war im Jahre 1898, als die Deutschen mit der Gr\u00fcndung der Stadt Qingdao (Tsingtao nach der alten Umschrift) und der Pachtung des angrenzenden Jiaozhou auf die koloniale B\u00fchne Chinas traten. <\/p>\n<p>Es dauerte keine zwei Jahre, und schon wurden sie zum Hauptdarsteller. Als im Jahre 1900 ein deutscher Missionar bei Qingdao ermordet wurde und man diesen Mord dem chinesischen Geheimbund der sogenannten \u201eBoxer\u201c (Yihetuan auf chinesisch, \u201eBund der Rechtschaffenheit und der Harmonie\u201c) zuschrieb, wurde der Ruf laut, Vergeltungsma\u00dfnahmen gegen China und seine Bev\u00f6lkerung einzuleiten. Eine gleichzeitige Kriegserkl\u00e4rung der Kaiserwitwe Cixi an die Westm\u00e4chte lieferte den Vorwand, mit aller H\u00e4rte gegen China vorzugehen. \u201eGermans to the front!\u201c, hie\u00df es. In seiner Hunnenrede vom 27. Juli 1900 wies Kaiser Wilhelm die deutschen Soldaten an, keine R\u00fccksicht auf Verluste zu nehmen: \u201eKommst ihr vor den Feind, so wird derselbe geschlagen! Pardon wird nicht gegeben! Gefangene werden nicht gemacht! Wer euch in die H\u00e4nde f\u00e4llt, sei euch verfallen! Wie vor tausend Jahren die Hunnen unter ihrem K\u00f6nig Etzel sich einen Namen gemacht, der sie noch jetzt in \u00dcberlieferung und M\u00e4rchen gewaltig erscheinen l\u00e4\u00dft, so m\u00f6ge der Name Deutscher in China auf 1000 Jahre durch euch in einer Weise best\u00e4tigt werden, da\u00df es niemals wieder ein Chinese wagt, einen Deutschen scheel anzusehen!&#8220; Auch wenn der Wortlaut der Rede in der sp\u00e4teren Ver\u00f6ffentlichung abgemildert wurde, waren dies die Worte, mit denen die deutschen Soldaten nach China fuhren, wo sie an der Spitze der \u201eAcht-M\u00e4chte-Armee\u201c Beijing besetzten. Angesichts des damaligen brutalen Vorgehens deutscher Truppen ist es erstaunlich, wie stolz die Bewohner Qingdaos heute auf das deutsche Erbe sind. <\/p>\n<p>Mit Beginn des Ersten Weltkrieges 1914 fand die deutsche Kolonialherrlichkeit an Chinas Ostk\u00fcste jedoch ein j\u00e4hes Ende. Japan besetzte Qingdao und bekam es laut dem Versailler Vertrag nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg zugesprochen, eine Entscheidung, die den Zorn der chinesischen Intellektuellen auf sich zog und Katalysator f\u00fcr die Vierte-Mai-Bewegung war, die endg\u00fcltig die geistigen Pforten zum modernen China aufri\u00df. 1922 schlie\u00dflich gab Japan Qingdao an China zur\u00fcck, nur um 1938 wiederzukehren und die Stadt ein zweites Mal bis 1945 zu besetzen. <\/p>\n<p>Seitdem in chinesischer Hand, gewann Qingdao, neben Dalian wichtigste Hafenstadt Nordchinas, mit Beginn der Reform- und \u00d6ffnungspolitik zunehmend an wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung und hat heute hinter Shanghai, Dalian und Tianjin den viertgr\u00f6\u00dften Hafen Chinas.<\/p>\n<p>Davon sehen wir aber recht wenig, und spazieren gem\u00e4chlich durch die \u201edeutsche\u201c Altstadt. Im Zentrum steht die ehemalige St. Michaelis-Kathedrale, heute schlicht \u201eKatholische Kirche\u201c genannt. In meiner Heimatstadt Weiden steht die exakte Kopie. Wahrscheinlich eher umgekehrt. Auf jeden Fall stand <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Conchita_Wurst\" target=\"_blank\">Conchita Wurst<\/a> Patin f\u00fcr das Jesusbild.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style
